North Hennepin Community College seeks an experienced professional to serve as a Mental Health Therapist (Psychologist 2).
Salary Minimum $32.71 Salary Maximum $48.51 Salary Type Hourly Bargaining Unit/Plan 214, MAPE Job Description
The CARE Center at North Hennepin Community College provides counseling, programming, and support services related to student's personal well-being and development. The mental health therapist provides clinical perspective to the holistic, multi-disciplinary approach of the CARE Center team. Services include but are not limited to individual counseling, group therapy, case consultations, assessments and crisis intervention. In addition, the position and department function as a vital part of the college community by completing outreach to student referrals, serving as advocates in multiple settings, hosting mental health and basic needs awareness building activities, and mental health focused educational programming for both students and staff.
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Clinical Psychology required
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed professional counselor or psychologist in a educational/college/university environment, a non-profit, a private or public practice
Experience in providing individual and group therapy/counseling
Current Minnesota Licensure as an LP, LPC or LPCC as of first day of employment
Demonstrated cultural competency in the field of counseling or psychology with experience serving diverse clients
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum five years of experience as an LP or LPCC in a college/university environment, a non-profit, private or public practice
Experience supporting student from traditionally marginalized and underrepresented populations
Experience working in a higher education environment, specifically mental health center or counseling center
Experience creating and implementing educational and outreach programming
