Social Service Agency is adding a new member to our Behavioral Health Program. The Mental Health Therapist provides clinical therapeutic services to clients in our Head Start program serving Jefferson and Franklin counties with identified mental health issues. Services are provided with client-centered and family-centered approaches and are delivered through intensive, time-limited, goal specific interventions.
Therapeutic Intervention
The Mental Health Therapist will complete mental health assessments.
The Mental Health Therapist will develop treatment plans with measurable and observable goals.
The Mental Health Therapist will provide developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions for children, adults and families.
The Mental Health Therapist will complete all agency required documentation and grant-specific documentation in a timely manner.
Other Responsibilities
Therapist will attend and participate in team meetings, staff meetings and required trainings.
Therapist will maintain agreed upon caseload
Therapist will provide the highest possible level of service to clients.
Therapist will promote teamwork and cooperative effort among employees.
Therapist will maintain safe practices
Education and Experience
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field.
Two years' experience providing treatment to children who have experienced trauma and/or neglect, and their caregivers
Working knowledge of child and family development, home and center-based services preferred.
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LPC will received preference. We can provide supervision for provisional LCSW if needed.
Knowledge of therapeutic mental health intervention services for children and families who have experienced trauma and neglect to promote healthy development and prevent child abuse.
Must be able to provide therapy services in a variety of settings including but not limited to the clinic, community centers, schools, etc.
Excellent written and oral communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain critical internal and external relationships to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Ability to handle varying situations with tact and diplomacy.
