Job Summary

Under the supervision of the assigned administrator, the Mental Health Therapist position will provide mental health services to schools to meet the educational needs of pupils including assessment, counseling, consultation, mental health evaluations, and treatment for students, parents, and families. The Mental Health Therapist will perform individual and group counseling therapy for students and serve as a resource to school site principals, service providers, students, parents and staff. Performs other related services as assigned.

  • EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING: 1. Master's degree or higher in counseling, psychology, clinical social work, or a related field. 2.

    Valid license by California Board of Behavioral Science as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. 3. One (1) year of experience in a school setting providing direct mental health services to students including identifying student mental health needs, using community resources, and student advocacy. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1.

    One (1) year experience providing mental health therapy services or counseling and guidance support in a California school district, county office of education or county mental health authority. 2.

    One (1) year experience in the behavioral health plan process (including direct services, developing and monitoring behavioral support plans treatment plans, monitoring progress, termination of services). 3. One (1) year experience providing training to parents, school district staff, and/or community-based organizations. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING: 1. Training and experience in evidence-based counseling practices with at-risk youth and families in various settings. 2.

    One (1) year of experience with Medi-Cal billing and documentation. 3. Knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques. IF HIRED - PRE EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT (At Employee Cost): - TB Clearance
