Job Summary Provides thorough triage, assessment, education, intervention and resource services in the Psychiatric Intake Response Center (PIRC) at Children#s of Alabama. Assists in connecting needed mental health and behavioral health services available in the community with children and families to improve health outcomes and prevent crises. Provides crisis intervention services and conducts thorough psychosocial assessments and safety planning in the the Emergency Department. Education Masters degree in counseling, social work, marriage # family therapy, psychology, or related field required. Experience Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience in the child and adolescent mental health field providing counseling, psychosocial assessment, or crisis consultation services. Experience in providing crisis intervention services highly preferred. Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries Professional license in area of specialty (i.e. Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, and Licensed Marriage # Family Therapist) required.

As a leading correctional healthcare provider, we were recently awarded the opportunity to provide high quality of care for the patients at the Jefferson County Jail and are seeking Counselors/Clinicians that want to be a part of our mission! NaphCare Mental Health Professional/Clinicians are responsible for providing mental health care within the scope of their license in the mental health unit of the facility. The successful candidate will be Master's prepared and have knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, discharge planning, principles of social work, basic principles of individual and group behavior, and a working knowledge of psychotropic medications. Position Requirements * Masters prepared candidate with a current, unrestricted Psychologist, Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker license (LICSW or LPC) in the state of Alabama * Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a mental health care setting is required, with correctional healthcare experience preferred * Must have knowledge and experience in the identification and treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, discharge planning, principles of social work, basic principles of individual and group behavior, suicide risk assessment, crisis de-escalation techniques * Must have a working knowledge of psychotropic medications * Must have the physical and mental capacity to work in an environment that may be less than pristine * Must be able to manage and maintain physical and mental health when encountering stressful situations * Valid CPR card If you want a career that will make a difference, choose the company that is different.
