BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Technician II to join our outstanding and compassionate Behavioral Health team. BayCare Behavioral Health is the largest full-service, community-based health care system in the Tampa Bay area.

We offer a variety of services in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco and Hernando counties. We provide a full range of comprehensive services for mental health and addiction issues tailored to meet the needs of children, adults and families.

The Mental Health Technician II provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to Ensure safety and well being.

Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients. Assists with physical care under the direction of a RN. Promotes coordination of the unit by Completing orders, making phone calls and directing calls and information to the charge nurse.

Certifications and Licensures

Required BLS (Basic Life Support) Required Driver's License If applicable Preferred CNA (Nursing Assistant) Preferred Patient Care Technician

Education

Required High School or Equivalent Or Bachelor's Related field in lieu of experience Preferred Associate's Related Field Preferred Associate's Psychology

Experience

Required 6 months Psychology Or 6 months Emergency Medical Technician Or 6 months Paramedic Preferred 1 year Unit Secretary

LOCATION: This is a remote position servicing our Medicaid members in Regions 5, 6, 10 and 11. Residency in one of these regions is required. HOURS: Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Behavioral Health Case Manager supports our members with serious substance abuse, substance abuse-related disorders and/or mental health-related illness and is responsible for performing case management, telephonically or in-person, within the scope of licensure for these members. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Use appropriate screening criteria, knowledge, and clinical judgment to assess member needs. * Conduct assessments to identify individual needs and develops a care plan to address objectives and goals as identified during assessment. * Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the care plan and modifies the plan as needed. * Support member access to appropriate quality and cost-effective care. * Coordinate with internal and external resources to meet identified needs of the members and collaborates with providers. Qualifications * Requires a current, active, and unrestricted LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, RN or clinical psychologist license, from the state of Florida. * Requires 3+ years of clinical experience in social work, counseling with a broad range of experience with complex psychiatric and substance abuse, or substance abuse disorder treatment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. * Telephonic and/or face-to-face behavioral health case management experience is strongly preferred. * Experience with community mental health resources, CSB (Community Service Board), or similar is preferred. * Bilingual English-Spanish skills are required. * You must be competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
