Valid CA Pupil Personnel Services Credential with school counselor, school social work OR School psychologist authorization (required) *Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), School Counseling, or school psychology from an accredited college OR university (preferred) *Valid clinical license in mental health/social work/counseling OR be eligible to receive licensure within two years of hire date (must procure supervision requirements independent of PRJUSD) (preferred) *Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred)

Mental Health Specialist/Wellness Counselor PCN: NEW Under the direction of the site administrator, provide a wide range of service integration efforts and providers to enhance students' ability to define, work toward, and reach their full academic and personal potential; perform culturally competent assessments of students, families and their school and community environments; deliver a continuum of prevention and intervention opportunities, services and supports to maximize positive academic, social and emotional outcomes to students, their families, and to enhance the school community for all it's members; use the basic methods of social work intervention, which may include counseling, crisis intervention, casework, group work, community organizing, consultation, case management, family therapy, and effective educational strategies; create and maintain partnerships with students, families, faculty/staff, and community resources and providers; assess, design, advocate for and deliver direct and indirect services to affect culturally sensitive educational coutcomes at the systemic level.
