What you bring to SBHG:
Valid California Driver's License
Recent grads are welcome
Applicants must have attained the age of 18 years of age
Master's Degree in psychology, social work, or another related mental health field
Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as an Associate
Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.
How you will make a difference:
This position involves assessing clients at the start of treatment and as needed, developing and maintaining treatment plans, and conducting family collateral and discharge planning. Duties include discussing goals and objectives of proposed treatment plans and establishing a contract with the consumer. Responsibilities also involve interviewing consumers to collaborate with mental health professionals in determining the needs of individuals or groups on a walk-in or telephone basis, and responding to potential suicide or other emergency events. The role includes visiting clients, individually or as part of a team, in various living situations to assess mental health needs, observe progress, provide counseling, gather data, and report significant changes in the client's condition to designated professional staff.
Division/Program Overview:
The Valley Star Crisis Walk-In Center (CWIC) operates 24/7 in an unlocked setting, offering stays of up to 23 hours. It provides rapid mental health assessment and crisis intervention for all age groups-children, adolescents, adults, and older adults-needing immediate access to crisis services. The center delivers crucial support for immediate crisis intervention and stabilization. Individuals admitted to the crisis stabilization unit receive support and services to ensure a safe transition to the next level of care or back into the community.
