Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

This position is located at the Berkeley Community Mental Health Center, 403 Stoney Landing Rd., Moncks Corner, SC 29261. Location of office will be primarily off site of main Center location and in the county jurisdiction.

As a Mental Health Professional, you will supervise and attend to the daily operations of our emerging First Responders Support Team services under general supervision of the program.

You will perform semi-routine or diversified counseling and case management functions for individuals with behavioral and/or emotional mental health issues. Counseling clients in individual or group sessions to assist them in dealing with mental illness and/or other difficulties in individual, family, vocational, social, or other life crises. Counseling or aiding family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting the client.

You will assist in developing and implementing treatment plans. Guide clients in the development of skills or strategies towards achieving and maintaining good mental health.

You will conduct and lead discussion groups dealing with a variety of family and individual concerns. Participate in treatment team meetings. Assist in the planning and execution of mental health education programs for the general public. Performs specialized educational and training functions within the clinical setting as designated.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

.State Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services, or a related field

Agency (Facility) Minimum Requirements:

A Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

Certified bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
