Job Responsibilities

With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

Provides an array of out-patient mental health services, crisis management, individual and group therapeutic interventions to adults with serious mental illness, emotional disturbance /or co-morbid substance abuse disorders. Provides screening and clinical assessments for persons experiencing mental health, emotional disturbance and/or substance abuse issues.

Works with other professionals to develop an initial plan of care and coordinates services with other community service providers. Documents all clinical work in accordance with SCDMH Quality Assurance standards.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Department of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
