Job Responsibilities

Position located at Department of Mental Health/Columbia Area Mental Health Center, Child, Adolescent and Family (CAF) Services, CAMHC #145.

Under general supervision, provide advanced assessment, crisis management, short-and long-term individual and family therapy, and case management services for children and their families who present with psychiatric needs. Family therapy is provided as regular component of treatment.

Documentation is reflective of the quality care expected of this position to include Collaborative Documentation/timely record keeping.

Demonstrates recognition of the importance of collaboration and team work within the Center and the community to include interaction with peers, attends staff meetings/supervision, participates in meetings with other child-serving agencies on behalf of patients, and meets with unit psychiatrists/nurse practitioner to formulate, develop and implement individual service plans for each patient/family.

Maintains competency in at least one Evidence-Based Practice.

Ensures patient functionality is measured by the DLA-20.

Responds to telephone messages, emails, Team messages, and inter-office mail. Retains overall responsibility for meeting Quality Assurance and CARF standards.

Services are delivered in clinic-based setting. Also requires the ability to do concurrent documentation.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Requirements: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Agency Prefers: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences and one (1) year or more post graduate counseling experience.

Licensure preferred; licensure supervision available.
