Position Objective: The Mental Health Professional (MHP) functions within the multidisciplinary team to provide mental health services to people supported by EP!C. The MHP is responsible for providing home/community-based services, including but not limited to: assessment, treatment planning, counseling, community support and case management services. Must be familiar with providing mental health interventions, including crisis intervention when needed. The MHP must meet established productivity targets and complete all clinical documentation in a timely manner.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • To conduct oneself in a manner that reflects the highest standards of professional courtesy and ethical practices to people served, staff, guardians, families, and all outside contacts.

Assistance to Director of Behavioral Health Services

  • Assist in development/revision of BHC policies and procedures.

  • Compile data as requested.

  • Assist with providing training to other program staff.

Program /Department Development, and Coordination

  • Complete IM+CANS assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans.

  • Review and modify treatment plans as necessary to assist individuals in achieving goals.

  • Provide community support, individual/group counseling, and case management.

  • Complete progress notes and other required documentation in compliance with agency policy.

  • Provide and assist with referrals, linkage, and follow-up services as needed.

  • Meet productivity requirements through direct contact with people supported, using a recovery-based and trauma-informed approach.

  • Maintain and update individual's information within the electronic record system.

  • Collaborate with other program staff to ensure individuals' needs are met.

  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, and other agency events as requested.

  • Arrive to work, meetings, and all work-related functions on time. Report any absence, tardiness, or schedule change to supervisor as soon as possible.

  • Successfully complete program training requirements.

  • Attend conferences, seminars, and in-service training as requested or approved.

Marginal Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • As a mandated reporter, ensure all allegations of abuse and neglect are reported as required.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, or related field; Master's preferred.

  • Must pass a background check.

  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

  • Experience supporting, educating, and advocating for individuals living with co-occurring intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking and sitting.

  • Regular reaching, grasping, and standing.

  • Other physical activities related to an office environment.

  • Operates general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Work may occur in the following settings: individual's home, EP!C office, classroom, or community. Work hours can be flexible.

  • Be a team player with a positive attitude towards the people EP!C supports, peers, EP!C staff and outside contacts.
