Fraser is seeking a Mental Health Professional (LICSW, LMFT or LPCC) to support our ABA program with diagnostic assessments, behavior consultations, treatment planning, and outpatient skills training!

Responsibilities include:

  • Participation in team diagnostic assessment, behavior consultations, treatment planning, and family therapy

  • Outpatient skills for clients with behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders utilizing principles of behavior analysis

  • Collaboration with Clinical Program Managers and other Behavior Professionals to promote teamwork and communication

  • Support with supervision and training for interns and other non-licensed staff

Requirements:

  • Current licensure from the State of Minnesota LICSW, LMFT, LP, or LPCC or obtaining independent licensure within the next 2 months

  • Please note: LAMFT, LPC, and LGSW candidates do not yet qualify - please see the Mental Health Practitioner - Clinical Trainee opportunity

  • Experience working with children clinically preferred

  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License with acceptable record required for travel to different Fraser locations for training and meetings

  • Knowledge and experience in cultural diversity

  • Ability to pass and maintain good standing in the Department of Human Services background check

  • Computer proficiency using Word and Excel with proficiency in keyboarding skills required; Fraser utilizes collaborative documentation

Shift length are 8 hours. For more information about our Crisis Residence please visit https://www.hennepinhealthcare.org/specialty/psychiatry/crisis-residence/ Under direct supervision of nursing staff, performs work of routine difficulty in assisting in the treatment of clients in an acute care inpatient or residential setting. RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides patient care to inpatients or patients in the psychiatric emergency department of HCMC under supervision of nursing staff; therapeutic 1:1, evaluates, intervenes, and reports to and works with nursing staff and/or mental health professional to follow individualized patient care plans. * Participates in planning and implementing treatment team recommendations concerning individual and group patient programming; * Follows the problem-oriented method for patient charting or reporting on behaviors observed; promotes and maintains a healthy and safe treatment setting. * Provides patient care with ADL's; * Maintains an organized and clean milieu; * Provides milieu support to patients and nursing staff. May provide patient care activities and clerical activities. * Facilitates non psychotherapy activities including but not limited to individual and group psychoeducation * Crisis management and referral for basic needs and medical care, ongoing mental health services and other issues as they arise * As needed, evaluate effectiveness of group mental health programming and develop programming to meet client needs and meet state requirement for best practices * Provide supportive and follow-up education measures to clients and families about the nature of the illness/condition and recommended treatments * Coordinate client care * Developing relationship with client and encouraging participation in treatment * Coordinating care with other providers * Discharge planning and coordination * Meeting with clients individually, as needed * Serve as team representative * Oversee and mentor behavioral health students * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education/ Work Experience: * Meet the criteria for a "Mental Health Practitioner" by the MN Department of Human Services. (See Appendix A) * Mental health practitioners providing services for the treatment of mental illness, who are not eligible for enrollment, must be under clinical supervision of a mental health professional and must be qualified in at least one of the following five ways: * Holds a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science or a related field, from an accredited college or university and meets either a or b: * Has at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to recipients with mental illness * Is fluent in a non-English language of a cultural group to which at least 50% of the practitioner's recipients belong, completes 40 hours of training in the delivery of services to recipients with mental illness, and receives clinical supervision from a mental health professional at least once a week until the requirements of 2,000 hours of supervised experience are met * Has at least 6,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of mental health services to recipients with mental illness. Hours worked as a mental health behavioral aide I or II under Children's Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS) may be included in the 6,000 hours of experience for child recipients * Is a graduate student in one of the mental health professional disciplines and an accredited college or university formally assigns the student to an agency or facility for clinical training * Holds a masters or other graduate degree in one of the mental health professional disciplines from an accredited college or university * Is a tribally certified mental health practitioner who is serving a federally recognized Indian trib Preferred Qualifications: * One year of related experience in a similar healthcare environment (behavioral health, nursing) * Actively enrolled in or a graduate of a two-year or four-year behavioral health or registered nursing program. * Training in (or willingness to learn) motivational interviewing techniques Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: * Ability to de-escalate sometimes stressful patient situations * Knowledge of motivational interviewing skills and techniques * Basic computer skills. * Ability to support and provide patient and family centered care in a team environment * Ability to meet the diverse needs of the patient population(s) being served Note, this is an unlicensed role Hennepin County Medical Center Minneapolis MN
