Job Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the CSP Coordinator, plan, coordinate and provide intensive therapeutic interventions in the home and on site for adults with serious mental disorder and/or co- occurring disorders who have demonstrated a history of disengaging from treatment, and/or presents behavioral patterns of poor medication compliance, high rates of inpatient psychiatric admissions and/or incarcerations, and high rates of ER usage for psychiatric services.

This position is located at the Orangeburg Area Department of Mental Health, 2319 St. Matthews Road, Orangeburg, SC 29118.

Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center / OAMHC is an approved site of the National

Health Service Corps, (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $50,000 to

employees of NHSC-approved sites. You must be a US citizen, you must be licensed to practice independently in the state where you are hired, and you must have unpaid government or commercial school loans.

There is a two year service commitment required as well. Confirmation of qualifying for this loan repayment program is the responsibility of every applicant - we cannot guarantee your qualification.

Who We Are

Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center is part of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center/OAMHC provides mental health services to individuals in Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg and Holly Hill Counties.

1.Manage administrative/clinical functions as applicable to outcome expectations for fidelity reviews; provide statistical information to support program objectives assures that patients referred for ACT meets the eligibility requirements dictated by program standards; complies with addressing reports, meetings, or training requirements requested by the SCDMH- ACT Liaison; prepare and update quarterly a comprehensive picture for ACT & PSS for persons served.

2.Coordinate and provide TX needs for patients referred for services; provide clinical supervision for all cases managed by the program; monitor and provide guidance for services and TX interventions rendered by staff.

3.Provide crisis management for patients and work closely with the psychiatrist to assure that access to psychiatric medical assessments occur; assures that routine medical assessment is scheduled for patients and assist with linkage for this intervention as needed,

4.Coordinate and/or advocate for services with other agencies or community resources on behalf of patients; refer patients for care coordination or housing services as applicable.

5.Devise and assure the update of treatment plans and progress summaries; conduct and assures the completion of TX outcome tools for persons served in a timely manner at intervals dictated by EMR and Quality Assurance Standards

6.Conduct medical record reviews; assure that records are in compliance with QA standards; target billing errors, report and disposition upon detection prior to or upon detection after billing runs monthly.

7.Completes and assures that staff supervised consistently completes 85 % of documentation for services rendered on the day of service; meets productivity

expectations and assures that staff supervised achieved productivity expectations.

8.Secure annual continuing education hours required by CARF (10 CEU); attend and assures that staff supervised attend at least one evidence-based training during each performance review period; J assures compliance with completion of required Pathlore/SCEIS training by all ACT staff.

9.Other duties as requested by the supervisor

Minimum and Additional Requirements

DMH REQUIREMENTS: A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS: A master's degree from an accredited program, university, or college in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family counseling or other individual discipline deeded equivalent to SCDMH and one (1) year post-graduate experience in a clinical counseling program

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of normal and abnormal behavior adjustment techniques. Knowledge of clinical

practices and interviewing techniques. Knowledge of legal principals and practices.

Knowledge of investigative techniques, principles and practices.

Knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling services. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws or regulations pertaining to a social service program.

Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objectives. Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions.
