As the Support Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing family-centered mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and case management services to youth and their families. Joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, you'll deliver trauma-informed and culturally responsive support in the community, ensuring services are accessible and convenient for families.

Responsibilities
Facilitate connections to natural supports and community-based resources for clients and families
Provide crisis intervention and mental health services at various locations, including client homes, schools, and other community settings
Participate in treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when necessary
Maintain accurate mental health notes, complete required paperwork, and track services as indicated
Assist with planning and organizing transportation for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings as needed
Attend team meetings, weekly trainings, individual and group supervisions, following clinical best practices
Participate in scheduled emergency on-call response as scheduled
Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques when necessary
Qualifications
Required:
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree OR
Associate's degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR
High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience
Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field
Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings as needed
Be part of a rotating emergency pager system, scheduled with supervisor ahead of time
Must be at least 21 years of age
Own vehicle, Valid California driver's license and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
Must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination
Preferred:
Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs
Experience providing strong behavioral interventions with youth
Strong organizational, time management, and writing skills
Schedule
Full-time
Mon - Fri; 9AM - 5PM
Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Participate in On-Call Crisis Response on a rotating basis, scheduled ahead of time
Benefits
Starting at $22.66 - $25.16 per hour, actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualification
Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
