Job Description

The University of Missouri, St. Louis' nationally accredited Child Advocacy Center is hiring a clinician who will provide trauma-focused individual, family, and group psychotherapy for clients and families. Services are provided in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary staff. Experienced Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers/Counselors, Senior Social Workers/Counselors, or Staff Psychologists should apply for this position. All applicants must have a master's degree in a related field and be eligible for licensure (full or provisional) in Missouri.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive trauma-informed diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and families in a competent and timely manner

  • Provide individual, group, and/or family psychotherapy for victims of childhood trauma using evidence-based practices. Our services are provided on an outpatient basis, though some group programming occurs in a school setting.

  • Provide case management services (e.g., locating and facilitating appropriate referrals, participating in team meetings, and communicating with other service providers) for clients as indicated within the scope of trauma treatment.

  • Meet all CASGSL established quality assurance, documentation, grant reporting, billing, and productivity standards.

  • Attend and participate in case consultation, treatment team, and staff meetings.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Clinical Managers or Executive Director

  • Therapists must work two evenings (noon to 8pm) per week (schedule to be determined in conjunction with supervisor)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses knowledge of practices and procedures within the Child/Adolescent Mental Health Field

  • Possesses strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Demonstrates competence in working with diverse populations.

Shift

M-F; Requires two evenings per week.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Li censure as required for position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling from an accredited program

  • Five or more years providing clinical services as a LCSW or LPC to children, adolescents, and families

  • Must be eligible to be licensed as a LMSW or a PLPC within the state of Missouri

  • Experience and formal course work in assessment, diagnosis and psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and families

  • Previous work experience with school-based programming

  • Previous familiarity and/or experience in working with issues, features and treatments related to the field of Child Maltreatment and with implementing evidence-based practices (e.g., Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools, Integrative Treatment for Complex Trauma, Treatment for Children with Sexual Behavior Problems, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy)

Social Worker/Counselor

  • A Master's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Senior Social Worker/Counselor

  • A Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling from an accredited program

  • Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a LCSW or LPC within the state of Missouri

Staff Psychologist

  • A doctorate degree in psychology from an accredited program

  • Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a psychologist within the state of Missouri

  • Previous work experience with children, adolescents, and families

Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.

Hiring Range: starting at $50,000 annually.

Grade: GGS-9E
