Schedule: Full time, mostly daytime hours.

Summary: As a member of the multidisciplinary residential team, the Mental Health Clinician reports to the Clinical Lead and is responsible for providing therapeutic and supportive services to clients and families in the milieu, community, and natural environment of the student. An ideal candidate must have strong clinical skills with emphasis on Expressive Therapies in one or more modalities, clinical writing and experience implementing trauma-informed care.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group treatment sessions within the milieu.

• Document clinical notes, complete progress reports, IEP information, and re-evaluations.

• Partner with students' education teams to ensure that student goals are being achieved

• Collaborate with other specialist providers to develop integrated interventions

• Provide crisis support to students in distress

• Work cooperatively with special education and residential staff to address the needs of the students within the academic and residential environments.

• Provide consultation and training to staff regarding mental health related topics.

• Participate in any meetings, as directed.

• Attend training as required.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

• Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including inclement weather.

• Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn.

• Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs.

• Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize activities with specific attention to higher level strategies while ensuring that details are also effectively addressed

• Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job.

• Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, social work or related field and licensed eligible

• 1-2 years of experience with children/adolescents who have developmental disabilities.

• Experience in facilitating individual, group and family therapy.

• Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including working with Mobile Crisis Team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• A valid driver's license

• Must meet Dept of Early Education and Care Background record check requirements.
