OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

What You'll Do:

This position will serve in an unclassified status per Ohio Revised Code 124.11(A)(14)and as such, serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority, the CEO..

Acts in the capacity of the liaison between the ADAMHS/Community Mental Health Boards, community agencies and Summit RPH; provides consultation and information as needed, forensic monitors, mental health board personnel, agency supervisors, case managers) regarding the clinical progress and discharge planning of multiple Board patients. Consults with Forensic department and Supervisor on problems relating to forensic and civil patient discharge issues; coordinates discharges with the Boards by attending treatment team meetings, regularly meeting with agency Case Managers and/or clinical directors as well as Board personnel, arranging other meetings with appropriate personnel to discuss patients as needed; works with treatment teams to facilitate discharge and to coordinate care with outside agencies; answers inquiries regarding patients. Identifies specific data and compiles monthly/quarterly reports as required. Summit Behavioral Healthcare recognizes patient safety as a core value. Consults and works closely with Clinical Services Director, Director of Social Work, Social Work Supervisor and Social Work staff in terms of identifying barriers to discharge both civil and forensic patients, provides social work staff members and other SBH staff with resource information to assist in the timely discharge of patients; assists in the coordination of referrals and follow-up services. Assists in coordination of quality assurance/performance improvement (QA/PI) plans to ensure the care, treatment, programming & environment meet standards & elements of performance consistent with the RPH mission, values & goals, meets the needs of patients; reflects the use of current accepted practices; incorporates current safety information & incorporates relevant performance improvement results; contributes to policy development. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and chairs, attends meetings as assigned; observes all safety and/or confidentiality guidelines and procedures; responds to request from OMHAS regarding the status of patients; maintain knowledge of RPH procedures for responding to workplace incidents and working knowledge of safety and prevention programs, including infection control and safety procedures that minimize risks to patients and staff.

Requires current license as independent social worker (i.e., LISW) as issued by State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage & Family Therapist Board

Completion of undergraduate core program in one of following fields: mental health & developmental disabilities technology, social work or comparable field (e.g., child & family community services), special education, psychology or rehabilitation or 24 mos. exp. in development & implementation of treatment/ habilitation plans for persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled & working as part of interdisciplinary team to assess consumers'/residents' needs & abilities;

12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in state & federal regulations, standards & court orders governing care, custody, treatment, programming & environment of consumers/residents in mental health or developmental centers, or regulating drug treatment center operations or federally funded drug abuse services, or governing delivery of psychiatric services in adult correctional institution, or affecting community mental health programs (i.e., category of state & federal regulations, standards & court orders must be linked directly to type of facility & services being provided).

6 mos. trg. in supervisory principles/techniques or 6 mos. exp. scheduling, monitoring & evaluating personnel;

6 mos. trg. in budgeting or 6 mos. exp. determining budget needs & spending for operational unit or program of agency or firm;

6 mos. trg. in employee training & development or 6 mos. exp. writing training materials or conducting training;

3 mos. trg. in manpower planning or 3 mos. exp. scheduling personnel for adequate coverage & making staff projections.

  • Or 6 mos. exp. as Mental Health Administrator 3, 65223.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
