The Assistant Coach will assist the Director of Men's Golf in the administration of all aspects of the men's golf program with focus on holistic team and sport performance.

Duties shall include but is not limited to the following:

  • Oversee all elements of sports performance golf coaching and programming for Stanford Men's Golf Team including fitness plans, body functionality assessments, nutrition, hydration, mental skills training, team building, statistics, and general well being.

  • Create, direct, and administer TEAM based sports performance programming based on seasonal calendar and periodization goals.

  • Create, communicate, administer and curate INDIVIDUAL fitness and mobility plans for Men's Golf Student Athletes

  • Assist to create, communicate, administer and curate INDIVIDUAL sports nutrition plan for Men's Golf Student Athletes during competition and non-competition timeframes

  • Provide a high-level of service delivery, including but not limited to, the development of athletics performance enhancement programs as related to injury prevention and performance enhancement (strength development, power development, quadrennial planning, recovery etc for Men's Golf Team)

  • Provide effective written and oral communication regarding performance plans and programming to student-athletes, coaches, staff, administrators etc.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Stanford Sports Performance staff and relevant Athletics Department personnel.

  • Collaborate frequently with licensed Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers regarding the rehabilitation progress and return to participation/play planning of injured student-athletes.

  • Maintain a safe training environment for Stanford student-athletes.

  • Maintain a high-level of professional communication between coaching staff, athletic trainers, physical therapists, physicians, sports dieticians and sports psychologists

  • Adherence to all policies and procedures as identified by DAPER, Stanford Sports Performance and the NCAA

  • Assist in coordination of daily operational schedule

  • Assist with team focus social media efforts

  • Assist in team recruiting responsibilities, correspondence, planning, and forecasts

  • Assist with the hosting of men's intercollegiate tournaments

  • Assist with fundraising event management

  • Assist with maintaining and management of varsity practice facility

  • On course / tournament coaching

  • Workout and practice supervision

  • Student athlete mentoring and monitoring

  • Leadership at the Stanford Golf Camps

Qualifications:

  • Former college golfer preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, human performance or related field

  • Current CSCS and/or CSCCa certification(s) preferred

  • One (1) to three (3) years of full-time coaching experience in the field of golf, golf specific strength and conditioning and/or sports performance

  • Experience with athlete performance monitoring

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Highly motivated

  • Knowledge and experience with of high level competitive junior, amateur, and professional golf

  • Passion for Stanford Men's Golf and its quest to develop leaders and champions

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Trackman, Sam Putt Lab, TPI, ACS Software

This position is responsible for ensuring that your involvement with DAPER activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations.

The expected pay range for this position is $80,00 - $90,000 per annum.
