  • Respond to residents needs promptly while maintaining residents self-respect, dignity, safety, and confidentiality.

  • Communicate any observed or suspected resident change of condition to a supervisor immediately.

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.

  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments


  • Experience preferred but not necessary; we will train the right candidate

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs

  • Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents and their families.

  • Must pass a criminal background check before beginning work.

This position provides on-going communication,in-service, orientation, and direction to these contracted provider offices. (As defined on the attachedValues-Based Competency Model Form.) EssentialFunctions: * Fostersa close working relationship with assigned physician offices and visitsassigned offices routinely. Identifies concerns/issues and opportunities forimprovement, researches and resolves issues for provider offices, and providesaccurate and timely answers. Assists provider offices in ensuring compliancewith SJHH and Health Plans. (30%) * In-servicesnew and established physician offices on policies and procedures of SJHH, NetworkSupport Services (NSS) and Health Plans. Provides on-going education toassigned offices regarding such policies and procedures. (20%) * Educatesphysician offices on Point of Care Tools (e.g., Ascender and Physician Connect).(10%) * Documentsall site visits and provider issues for trending and reporting. (10%) * Actsas a liaison with various SJHH Departments and physician offices and Health Plansto resolve provider issues and facilitate notifications. (10%) * Coordinatesand attends health fairs, senior events, employer events and various enrollmentfunctions to promote network. (10%) * Conductsphysician office staff meetings and other network meetings as needed. (5%) * Assistswith business development as assigned. (5%) AdditionalResponsibilities: * Keep informed of current health/managedcare information. * Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Position Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: * Requiresone (1) year experience working with physicians in a managed care/IPA, Medicalgroup, health plan or MSO environment with prior Provider Relations or CustomerService experience. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Windows,Excel and an email system. Other: * ValidCalifornia Driver's License for travel between St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare locations. * Knowledgemedical terminology, medical billing, medical offices procedures. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: * Strong interpersonal and organizationalskills to achieve desired goals and to interact effectively * with management and non-management staffand physician groups. * Attention to detail and follow-up skillsrequired. * Must be able to maintain a positiveattitude under changing conditions. * Ability to seek out available resourcesto resolve problems. * Must be able to work under minimalsupervision. * Must have a professional and maturedemeanor. * Must be able to work in a fast-paceddepartment and handle multiple tasks, work with * interruptions, and deal effectively withconfidential information. PreferredPosition Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree preferable in Healthcare Managementhighly desirable. Experience: Two (2) plus years' managedcare Provider Relations experience. Computer Skills: Intermediate to advancedskills in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and IDX. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Advancedknowledge of managed care principles and methodologies. EnvironmentalConditions: Mayinclude exposure to potentially hazardous material, infectious agents, contactwith patients, public and staff. PhysicalRequirements: Sittingfor long periods of time, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling,pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying up to 15 lbs., and grasping. Normal hearingand vision.
