We are seeking an individual, who has demonstrated a willing commitment to these values, holding them in high regard, to join our team at the Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center in the role of Membership Services Coordinator!

The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, organize, and supervise membership operations which includes membership services, gymnasium, and Barnyard staff within the Alan E. Sims Recreation Center of the Parks & Recreation Department. This position does provide direction to other employees including full-time, part time, seasonal and contractual employees.

The schedule of this position is generally Tuesday - Saturday but may vary based on special events and departmental needs.

How You Add Value

  • Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner. Trains staff on registering customers for a variety of activities/events; prepares information for membership services staff to communicate facility schedule for recreation activities, such as athletics, special events, day camps, and after school programs.

  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating interviews, for center workers, including full time and part time employees and volunteers.

  • Prepares budget for membership services and Barnyard areas, monthly ActiveNet financial reports, and monitoring daily cash reports.

  • Assists with facility reservations and rental information, which may include room setup and breakdown.

  • Provides information to the public about all parks and recreation facilities; specifically focusing on the recreation facility and programming.

  • Monitor building maintenance and of the recreation center by inspecting and reporting areas in need; Supervise, instruct, and assist membership services, and Barnyard staff on maintaining areas.

  • Coordinate with Recreation Center Manager, Assistant Manager, Health & Wellness Coordinator, Recreation Programmer, and Event Coordinator to ensure that information for programs events, and rentals, is accurate and available to communicate to Alan E. Sims Recreation Center users.

  • Plan, develop, and implement surveys.

  • Actively participate within the leadership team, comprised of the Recreation Programmer, Health & Wellness Coordinator, Health & Wellness Lead, Event Coordinator, Event lead, Maintenance Crew Chief, Assistant Manager, and Recreation Center Manager.

  • Promotes the Cedar Hill Way by providing and creating positive first impressions, retention, and daily interaction with public, staff, contract instructors, and vendors to align with the City of Cedar Hill mission.

  • Maintain financial accounting of expense and revenues associated with membership services, , and Barnyard. Prepare and recommend budget request, cost estimates, and justifications for needed equipment and supplies. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

  • Responsible for ActiveNet membership records and reports. Maintain data on recreation center attendance. Complete forms and maintain records as required.

  • Responsible for ActiveNet software entry and troubleshooting in areas such as membership promotions, Point of Sale products, and Barnyard operations.

  • Perform miscellaneous duties shared by other staff such as answering the phone, typing correspondence, taking registration and reservations, picking up supplies, attending meetings associated with job functions, making cash deposits, etc.

  • Actively engage with direct reports and recreational team members to build a solid foundation of cooperation for team success, teamwork and premier internal and external customer service.

  • Assist with internal and external special events, programming and services offered at various locations within the City of Cedar Hill.

  • Serves as the Manager on Duty (MOD), as assigned, responsible for overall Center operation including opening/closing duties.

  • Regular attendance required.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation or closely related field required.

  • Two years of progressive experience in a recreation center, or closely related field.

  • Experience in customer service or front-line operation, athletics, and/or childcare preferred

  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License required.

  • Possession of or ability to obtain within six months: CPR/AED Certification, First Aid.
