The Membership Accounts Coordinator is responsible for net positive membership retention and growth, cultivating member development and retention for up to 300 member companies and ensuring each recognizes TMA is the association of choice for small and medium size manufacturers. The successful candidate will build and maintain professional relationships with members, understand their immediate needs, anticipate their emerging interests, and continually tailor their total membership experiences.

Organizational Relationships

Reports directly to the Director of Member Retention. Works regularly and routinely with staff colleagues, including across different departments, as well as owners, principals, and key managers representing assigned members as well as volunteer leaders, including the Board of Directors, partners, event sponsors, and outside vendors when appropriate and as needed.

Responsibilities and Areas of Accountability

  • Retain members through regular outreach and follow up with main and additional points of contact using phone calls, in-person and virtual visits, and personal emails, especially not to exceed 90-day intervals, and document this activity in membership database.

  • Consistently ensure information maintained in database profiles in the membership database is accurate and affect appropriate updates as needed.

  • Facilitate and present in person and online meetings with owners, principals, and key managers individually and in groups.

  • Continually seek opportunities to involve more member employees in different roles and cultivate deeper member engagement and retention.

  • Facilitate new member orientation process to fulfill new member immediate needs and continually explore emerging interests.

  • Follow up daily on all leads generated by members, Board members, Team members, through events and any means generated to achieve monthly goals.

  • On a weekly basis, report to the Director of Retention your actual member visits (in person and online) for the previous week as well as the same - scheduled and anticipated - for the subsequent two weeks.

  • Attend weekly team meetings for the purpose of maintaining pipelines for prospective members and a robust retention process that reinforces achievement of monthly goals.

  • Support the Director of Member Engagement to:

  • Plan and facilitate in person and online programming for members to engage and learn about member benefits, programs, and services;

  • Seek out and provide Social Media opportunities for our members;

  • Review all manner of marketing assets and collateral as well as recommend and prepare updates as needed.

  • Expected to attend association events, including but not limited to early mornings, evenings, and premier events on weekends.

  • Other duties/activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2 or 4 year degree, preferred.

  • 3-5 years experience in Client Services/Account Management, preferred

  • Must have outstanding business development and interpersonal skills, including time management and punctuality as well as verbal, written, phone, and electronic communication skills conducive to a diverse staff and membership base.

  • Must be able to organize and document work, especially set goals and consistent follow through on priorities.

  • Must be effective working independently and as part of cross-functional teams.

  • Computer and cyber literacy must include functional knowledge for the safe and responsible use of the following in a professional context: Microsoft Office 365, particularly Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as social media platforms, especially LinkedIn.

  • Must provide for a conducive work environment, including if/when working offsite, particularly from home.

Typical Physical Demands

  • Requires ability to navigate and drive to facilities typically located within a 120-mile radius of Schaumburg, Illinois, often daily, and in all types of weather conditions.
