MEMBER SERVICES ASSISTANT
Summit on the Park
Pay Rate: $10.50 per hour
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position is responsible for performing daily front desk duties while providing excellent customer service to guests and members at the Summit on the Park.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Note: These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the various types of work performed)
Responsible for facilities and equipment appearance and cleanliness
Responsible for responding to communicating and documenting emergency situations, including but not limited to First Aid, Severe Weather, and Missing Child
Greet and interact with participants and families in a positive and friendly manner and provide and provide excellent customer service
Answer the telephone promptly and in a positive and friendly manner
Ensures the front desk is organized and performs general cleaning duties
Ensure safety rules, policies, regulations, and procedures are followed by public and employees
Responsible for enforcement and compliance with safety program rules and procedures
Prepare and provide information and reports as requested
Register/Sign-up guests for memberships, programs, classes and activities using company software
Work with community organizations, groups, and individual citizens to promote a safe and welcoming environment
Attend and assist with staff meetings as required
Ensure accurate money handling in accordance with Summit policies.
Reconcile and record cash, credit card and check transaction daily
Perform other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Minimum age of 18 years old
High School Diploma or GED required
Previous experience in dealing with the public in a mature and responsible manner
Previous experience in money handling preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills required
Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including mornings evenings and weekends
Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and efficient manner
Ability to clearly communicate procedures, problems, and policies to fellow employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner
Previous community center or facility operation experience preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment checking in members and guest
Basic computer skills required
Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
This is an "At-Will" position: Work assignments and hours scheduled based on availability, division requirements and within the confines of the budget. Schedules and work hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change at any time due to division needs, budgeting, and staff availability

This is a part-time job opportunity. An employee in this position can work up to 29 hours per week year round. Work hours, however, will be solely determined based on workload and availability.
This is an at-will position. Hours are limited and will vary based on the operational needs of the department. Employees in this position are not full-time and will be classified as part-time employees.
