MEMBER SERVICES SUPERVISOR

Front Line Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that member purchases are efficiently processed through the front line. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Training, scheduling breaks and assigning work to cashiers

  • Assisting with register transactions (e.g., voids, credit card and check verifications)

  • Assisting members with courteous and friendly customer service

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required

  • Prior front-end experience and basic math skills preferred

Minimum Age Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years of age.

VIEW JOBS 10/24/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-22T00:00 About the Department of Conservation and Recreation: The Department of Conservation and Recreation manages one of the largest and most diverse state parks systems in the nation and protects and enhances natural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities throughout Massachusetts. The DCR system includes over 450,000 acres of parks, forests, water supply protection lands, beaches, lakes, ponds, playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, trails and parkways. The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for the position of Seasonal Recreation Facilities Supervisor II focused on statewide aquatic programs based at the Connell Pool in Weymouth. Position Dates: 11/18/18 -3/16/19 DUTIES: Coordinate, Monitor and oversee the State Wide Learn To Swim Program for compliance and effective operations and participation at the Connell Pool and prepare for the Summer Season, for 20 DCR operated pools and beaches. Work with Pool Managers, Regional Aquatics Coordinators and their staff to develop a Water Safety Program including Learn To Swim, Junior Lifeguard and other Water Safety topics. Maintains contacts with public and private agencies such as the American Red Cross relative to the Learn To Swim Program, Lifeguard training and overall operations. Acts as Liaison for the Agency/Aquatics Department with local/state/federal/private entities as assigned. Does Community Outreach regarding Lifeguard and WSI recruitment, networking and building relationships and partnerships. Collect, record and administer Learn to Swim Certifications thru Red Cross SABA at the Connell Pool and other facilities as instructed, working with the instructors and making sure that all paperwork and course records are properly recorded and finalized. Prepares lesson plans. Works with Water Safety instructors (WSI's) to mentor them and provide recommendations, maximizing efficiencies state wide. Schedules in-service trainings for the WSI's during the season to ensure Training is being carried out appropriately. Post Program Communications at Connell to communicate Learn to Swim Policies and procedures, to ensure operations and workplace practices are clear. Acts as a WSI when necessary. As a Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT), would certify WSI's at the Connell Pool and State Wide in Preparation for the Connell Pool and Summer Season. Performs Lifeguard and WSI Recruitment in the Boston region, recruiting at Local High Schools, Colleges, and at Swim meets and from Swim Teams. Develops Recruiting Partners and partnerships. Performs Training and Testing of Lifeguards with Aquatics staff in the Boston Region and where needed. Audits and helps plan In Service Training at the Connell Pool. Maintains Lifeguard Tracker. When necessary/in the absence of Supervision, Supervises Lifeguard personnel at the Connell Pool and where necessary. Works with the pool manager. When necessary/if shorthanded, perform the duties of Lifeguard (performing water rescues and performing first-aid and or CPR by using proper techniques and lifesaving equipment to aid victims) at the Connell Pool. Monitors events and patrols facility during events to prevent theft and vandalism and to enforce rules and regulations. Inspects buildings and emergency equipment; performs routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and facilities such as swimming pools. Operates equipment such as pumps, generators and chlorinators. Ensures the proper upkeep and cleanliness of facilities, including the cleaning of showers and restrooms, trash removal and grounds maintenance. Enforces safety rules and regulations; maintains routine records. Identify, investigate and corrects heating, plumbing, electrical and structural problems at the Connell pool; meet with agency personnel to discuss problems and make repair recommendations. Based on assignment incumbents may also: Schedule events; review and prepare reports; keep inventory records; and monitor expenses by reviewing invoices and purchase orders; order and schedule the distribution of supplies. Perform other related Duties as assigned. Position Information: Performs related work as assigned. Administration Skills- computer Must have the following certifications upon hire: Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Lifeguard Certification CPR/AED certification Practical Pool Management Plus (PPM ) or (CPO) Certification Certified Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) Certified Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT), preferred but not required Reports to: Director of Aquatics This requisition will remain open until filled; however, first consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in the maintenance and/or repair of recreational facilities or in recreational management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitution: I. A certificate, diploma or degree as evidence of satisfactory completion of at least a two-year program in a recognized school above the high school level in building construction technology, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology or mechanism power engineering may be substituted for the required experience.* * Education toward such a program will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. Special Requirements: I. Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross II.
