If so, TwinStar Credit Union is looking for a Member Service Officer to fill an opening in our Lacey Credit Union Center branch.

We are looking for candidates who are able to:

  • Successfully connect with prospective members & build financial partnerships with current members;

  • Profile current and prospective members to uncover sales opportunities;

  • Accept the challenge to meet or exceed sales and loan growth goals as established by management;

  • Share concepts, ideas and offer suggestions to improve member service; and

  • Have least two years of sales experience, preferably in financial services.

Duties include:

  • Managing the sales and growth of a new account & consumer loan portfolio while meeting or exceeding established sales referral goals set by branch management;

  • Contacting members (using various methods) to share product and service information to enhance their relationship with the credit union;

  • Offering personalized information designed to educate members about our products & services;

  • Building strong relationships through personalized & extraordinary member service;

This position is normally scheduled for 5 days per week within our operating schedule of Monday Friday, 8:30 a.m.

  • 6:00 p.m. and occasional Saturdays 9:15 a.m.

  • 2:30 p.m.

This is a base, plus incentive position with a payout schedule based on production and performance. TwinStar Credit Union offers full-time employees medical, dental & vision insurance, paid vacation & sick leave and holidays

POSITION PURPOSE: The position of Member Service Representative I will work under general supervision and follow established policies and procedures of the credit union. The primary emphasis for this position will be to process savings and share draft accounts, check cashing, assist members with money orders, traveler's checks, and Visa transactions. This position requires an understanding of daily teller transactions and processes and working knowledge of the credit union's electronic data and processing system. This position will also assist members in the areas of Visa accounts, share accounts, stop payments, money orders, check orders, and resolve member inquiries. This position will require knowledge of loan, IRA, CD, Visa, ATM, wire transfer, and western union processes. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager and will assist with related projects and other duties as assigned. 2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * General knowledge of credit union products and services in order to assist members with inquires and transactions in an accurate and courteous manner * Provide a variety of transactions for members including processing savings and share draft accounts, loan payments, selling money orders, check cashing, Visa cash advances, Visa payments, and researching the best options for member's needs * Knowledge of all teller transaction codes and all policies directly related to the Over and Short, Check Cashing, and Power of Attorney Policies * Open share, share drafts, smart club, Christmas club and IRA accounts * Issue, reissue, or hot card ATM cards/Visa Debit cards * Assist members with unauthorized use of ATM/Visa debit cards * Maintain a professional appearance suitable for person-to-person interviews with members of the credit union; follow guidelines of the credit union dress code * Responsible for balancing daily transactions and cash totals in an accurate, efficient and timely manner * Maintain effective oral and written communication with all credit union employees to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing credit union goals * Attend monthly staff meetings, training sessions as assigned by immediate Supervisor * Process incoming mail, night deposit mail, western union and bank to bank wires * Performed other related duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management. * Cross sell all credit union products and services QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent and six months to one year of experience working in a financial institution or related field.
