Business Summary

VMware's Hybrid Cloud team is seeking a strong software engineer to participate in the design and implementation of the next generation Hybrid Cloud architecture.

As a member of the team you will be expected to participate in the design, architecture and implementation of high quality, well-architected software products with specific focus on hybrid cloud, distributed systems, scalability, elasticity and SLA guarantees. In this role you are expected to interact with Senior Architects, Product Managers, Solution Architects and sometimes with Partners and customers to discuss and collaborate strategies for enhancing features and to come-up with the next generation products. Critical thinking and leadership skills is a requirement as you will be involved in making crucial road map decisions.

Job Role and Responsibility

  • Collaborate in large-scale distributed systems design discussions

  • Create concepts, designs, workflows and APIs for the hybrid distributed systems

  • Participate in customer requirement analysis

  • Help present the work in internal technology forums

  • Help maintain technical acumen in key technology areas to help guide the evolution of our platform

  • Employ test driven development practices as part of the development process.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • Knowledge of Linux system internals (such as RPMs, processes, threads, filesystem, networking)

  • Experience in distributed systems design

  • A solid and proven foundation in computer science, with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi-thread programming, and software design

  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Driven, self-motivated and ambitious individual

Preferred Skills

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputable university

  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and employment thereof is a plus

Job Role and Responsibility We are searching for several talented, passionate, dynamic, hands-on Quality Engineers to be part of our team under VMware CMBU Org. * You will work closely with a team of software engineers and product managers on the design use cases of our management software, extending our capabilities to play a key role in ensuring the best possible solution for the customer. * You will design test strategies, and build automation tests suitable for SaaS platform. * You will estimate testing effort, prioritize projects, plan implementations and help rollout changes * You will develop deep understanding of the product, engineering processes, tools and concepts in order to effectively narrow down defects * You will communicate with internal VMware teams, both onshore and offshore. * You will write automation testing in Java, JUnit, Selenium and other internal Java-based automation frameworks. Required Qualifications: * Bachelors in Computer Science or EE (or equivalent) required * 5+ years of experience in testing software and maintaining test automation * Experience crafting and developing test automation frameworks with Java and Selenium for large scale distributed applications * Experience testing any web services such as REST. * Python or any scripting language is plus * Exposure to code control systems, continuous build integration, test case management and reporting tools. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Written, verbal and presentation social skills * Worked on any one of the public clouds such as AWS, GCP and Azure.
