Job Description

To lead the execution of the strategy for the MEM function and to ensure alignment with the organization's overall strategy. To ensure continued growth of the mobile maintenance function, to maximize operational efficiencies, safety, and profitability to cultivate exceptional stakeholder and employee satisfaction. To develop budget, forecasts, and strategic plans for the mobile maintenance function. To establish controls to ensure the reporting of accurate cost and availability data.

Provide senior-level technical support and leadership development to the Loading, Drilling and L/M Supervisor in preventative maintenance, major maintenance, safety, and personnel management to achieve production goals.

Job Responsibilities

Leads the department by example in health and safety performance.Ensures that all maintenance programs and activities comply with company, site and MSHA safety standards. Manages the department's environmental performance, supporting and complying with all related policies.

Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all activities related to the MEM Fleet.

Monitor efficiencies of the or crews to ensure maintenance priorities are met.

Analyze maintenance functions and makes adjustments to crew size as demands change. Assure proper training is provided when and as needed.

Directing the activities of the teams, including defining and delegating work assignments to maintain equipment performance, correct costing and a safe environment to achieve production targets.

Supervise and evaluate the job performance of the supervisors.

Oversee MEM personnel issues regarding advancement or discipline.

Maintain accurate records and files concerning all facets of MEM including safety meetings, attendance, vacation, scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, and accidents.

Knowledgeable all phases of MEM fleet including critical components and change-out hours.

Reviews documentation of accidents, injuries, and equipment damage and recommends prevention strategies as necessary.

Work safely in all areas, identify potential safety hazards, and work with management to correct them.

Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Degree or technical training equivalent to three years of study in mechanical engineering preferred (Desirable)

  • Completion of formal professional certification or designation in appropriate area of expertise preferred.

  • More than five years of related work experience required.

  • A minimum of two years' supervisory experience is required.

  • Previous experience in the mining industry is preferred.

  • In depth understanding of company processes a definite asset.

  • Complete understanding of mine and maintenance operations.

  • Must be available for shift work, holidays, and weekends.

Skills

  • General knowledge of mining and the integration of the mining, milling, and maintenance functions

  • More than five years of related work experience required.

  • A minimum of two years' supervisory experience is required.

  • Good working knowledge and skills with a PC utilizing word processing and spreadsheet programs

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports into the MEM Superintendent
