We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med/Surg team on our new inpatient unit: Terrace West. Terrace West is a new inpatient unit at the Alfond Center for Health that opened in the Spring of 2020, with expansion happening in the Fall of 2020. This new unit will positively impact our ability to service the central Maine region by allowing more patients to remain in our community for their inpatient care.
This is a per diem position.

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
The ideal candidate will have:
Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion, required
Previous RN work experience, preferred
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors
