Medication Assisted Treatment (Mat) Case Manager

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The MAT Case Manager collaborates with various Corrections and Medical staff to screen, provide individual and group treatment, and develop release plans for inmates in the Medication Assisted Treatment (MARS) Program. The MAT Case Manager is also actively involved in the daily operations of assessing the needs of inmates within the Department of Corrections through the enforcement of facility policies and procedures. We are committed to providing a safe environment for the inmate population here at Rockingham County Department of Corrections. We provide programs both in our facility and outside of the facility to assist inmates in enhancing and acclimating to their personal lives. The MAT Case Manager is a vital part of our team that develops service plans based on individual needs through linking with community resources for substance use disorders and mental health services, acting as a liaison for communications on behalf of inmates, and fostering positive relationships. Through using evidenced based practices, the MAT Case Manager facilities both individual and group treatment with inmates. The MAT Case Manager also assists inmates with community re-entry by developing a transition plan and linking inmates to community-based agencies (Sober Living, MAT, Peer Recovery, etc.). As part of our multidisciplinary team at the Department of Corrections, the MAT Case Manager assists in the development and implementation of procedures for case management, monitors and documents adherence to recommendations as outlined in court orders (pertaining to services needed prior to release as well as referrals to court recommendations post release), and maintains ongoing records for the purpose of yearly statistics.

• Bachelor's Degree with a major in Psychology, Behavioral Health, Social Services, Criminal Justice or related field, and;

• Prior experience in social services or criminal justice, or;

• Any equivalent combinations of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Experience in assessment and group facilitation.

• Experience working with Substance Use Disorder population or CRSW or LADC preferred.

• Working knowledge of Web Information Technology System (WITS) preferred.

• Ability to recognize and identify anti-social behavior, mental health issues and criminal thinking behaviors for the purpose of developing corrective action.

• Knowledge of substance use, mental health, and general resources specifically offered in Rockingham County.

• Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of criminal justice system issues and dynamics.

• Demonstrate knowledge of classification, counseling and case management techniques.
