Job Summary

• The duties are assigned to the medication aide by the charge nurse, but are within the realm of those delineated by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.

• Medication aides are also responsible for keeping resident's medication records current during such assignments.

• The employee file indicates the completion of a 20-hour Medication Aide class approved by the SD Board of Nursing.

• All medication aides are required to be Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and cross train throughout the facility.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Certified Nurse Aide licensure is required.

• Completion of Medication Aide course is required. (offered on-site)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified is required. (offered on-site)

Work Schedule

• Day/Night Shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks

• Every 3rd weekend

• Occasional holiday

• 12-hour shifts

• 6:00 am

• 6:30 pm, 6:00 pm

• 6:30 am

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $19.00 - $25.25 per hour
