The Medical Director/Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs will provide critical medical affairs direction for ALKS 3831, an investigational treatment currently in Phase 3 clinical development for schizophrenia.

In this role, you will drive key medical initiatives that align with overall corporate brand objectives, and work collaboratively with other functions (e.g., Clinical Development, Discovery, Field Medical, Regulatory, Commercial and Brand Teams).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive cross-functional alignment for lifecycle management planning for ALKS 3831, including evaluation of potential new indications, and support the development of related Study Protocols, and other key documents in conjunction with other line functions

  • Provide medical affairs expertise and support to Product Development teams and Medical Affairs teams, including training to other staff internally across functions

  • Partner with commercial and clinical development to support product strategy based on external and internal input

  • Provide medical interpretation of data (e.g., clinical trials, registries, published literature, etc.) related to ALKS 3831

  • Review applications for Investigator Initiated Study grants requests.

  • Foster relationships with key opinion leaders and clinicians; develop relationships with and obtain input from key medical opinion leaders, including supporting the planning and execution of Medical Advisory Board meetings

  • Represent Alkermes and provide Medical Affairs support at scientific congresses

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • MD, PhD or PharmD with a minimum of 5 years in a clinical or pharmaceutical setting with background in Medical Affairs

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, a strong scientific background, creativity, flexibility

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • A strong scientific background, knowledge/experience in psychiatry or psychopharmacology a plus

  • Medical degree with clinical experience in the treatment of patients with serious mental illness preferred

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements

TRAVEL:

  • Willingness/ability to travel up to 30% domestically. International travel may be required.

Leveraging your doctorate level education, along with medical device and IVD industry expertise, in this highly visible role, you will partner with sales leadership to develop new markets for Novas expanding portfolio of products. The mission of Medical and Scientific Affairs (MASA) department at Nova Biomedical is to become the number one provider of high quality medical and scientific support through research, education, and communication. As a Medical and Scientific Affairs Director, you will develop relationships with medical and clinical laboratory key opinion leaders who will evaluate and publish papers regarding Novas new diagnostic products. In addition, you will partner with sales and marketing to deliver programs throughout North America. More specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Continue to establish Nova Biomedical as a leading provider of advanced technology blood testing analyzers. Our key markets include hospital critical care and point-of-care, physician offices, emergency medicine, radiology, nephrology, and veterinary medicine. * Develop relationships with and grow our network of key medical and scientific opinion leaders. This will include developing and improving relationships and communication with medical communities, clinical working parties, as well as key opinion leaders and other physicians and medical specialists. There is a requirement to identify from this network, evaluators for clinical (medical) studies that will clearly demonstrate the added clinical and patient value and benefit for all currently marketed and future products. * Develop, define and implement clinical protocols to achieve the medical objectives for these evaluations and clinical trials and manage and monitor the execution of all regional studies. * Ensure there is a pipeline of publications, presentations, lectures and posters based on the results of the evaluation studies. Participate in developing, preparing and presenting communication materials of study results. * Support North American sales by establishing their and Novas scientific credibility through seminars and meetings with individual key customers. * Assist in the organization and support of local, regional, national workshops and seminars using key opinion leaders as speakers/presenters and also participate as a speaker. * Actively attend, as member when needed, scientific, medical or patient society events. Qualifications * Doctorate level education that would include MD, PhD in Clinical Chemistry (or related field), and/or PharmD. MBA or other commercial coursework is a plus. * Significant relevant industry experience that would include proven success in market development, product management, medical affairs, and/or leadership in commercial laboratories. * Strong expertise in presenting and delivering seminars, webinars, and workshops at professional society meetings. * Prior experience in performing or managing clinical trials/evaluations for regulatory submissions and/or market development in support of sales activities * Experience in preparing scientific papers for publication in peer reviewed journals * This role will have significant travel throughout North America Nova Biomedical Waltham MA
