This is a highly responsible position in the Orlando Medicaid Field Office, Bureau of Recipient and Provider Assistance within the Division of Medicaid, Agency for Health Care Administration. As part of the Outreach Unit, the individual in this position is responsible for: assisting with the development of outreach materials and translation into other languages; creation and review of Medicaid presentations for use by field offices; ensuring all outreach activities statewide are entered into outreach database; periodically reviewing the internal and external Agency website for needed updates; participating and representing the Agency at local community outreach events as assigned.
The incumbent in this position shall maintain up-to-date knowledge concerning the Florida Medicaid program, including pertinent Federal laws and regulations, state statutes and rules, the Florida Medicaid State Plan and its amendment processes, Medicaid Managed Care Waivers and Medicaid program manuals.
The incumbent in this position researches Medicaid policy and other pertinent resources to assist in the development of outreach materials covering designated areas of Medicaid and health care information. The incumbent works with immediate supervisor and other pertinent staff in drafting brochures, flyers, rack cards, posters, fact sheets, and other materials to be used by Recipient and Provider Assistance field offices in local community activities. Also has responsibility for periodically reviewing existing outreach materials for needed updates or removal as policy changes occur.
The incumbent in this position also assists in the creation of messages regarding Medicaid for social media networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
This position may require travel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Medicaid policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
Knowledge of social, economic, rehabilitation or health care service objectives.
Ability to manage databases.
Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written material.
Ability to conduct fact-finding research.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to a health services program.

Excellent reading and writing skills, reflecting a thorough knowledge of English language composition, spelling and grammar.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
At least 3 years of professional work experience within the fields of public health, social services or human services.
At least 2 years of documented experience working with Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
At least 2 years documented experience writing formal business communications (e.g., business letters, notices, alerts, presentations, training materials, white papers, bulletins/newsletters, other publication articles).
A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in the fields of public health, social services or human services is preferred.
Documented professional work experience in these fields can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
