The Medical Writer Sr provides high-level writing and editing support including intellectual contributions to Baylor Scott & White Health researchers and senior leaders for the development of grants, manuscripts for high impact journals, book chapters, abstracts, and posters, and national quality award applications. This support includes copy-editing, assistance with major revisions, and authoring as requested. Conducts literature searches and synthesizes information to create background sections for proposals and manuscripts. Provides copy editing support, assists with major revisions, and author sections as requested by the PI. Collaborates with statisticians, data managers, project managers, and researchers to obtain necessary data.

It will be your responsibility to provide the appropriate background information, guidance, and training to researchers to support their tasks. You will also prepare and/or review all final documents. Your Job Requirements: * Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a science, public health, or writing discipline preferred * 3-5 years of medical writing or health care experience desired * A thorough understanding of research, including CFR and ICH guidelines * Demonstrated strong writing skills * A working knowledge of statistics * Demonstrated ability managing timelines, people, and resources in a cross-functional team * A thorough understanding of the submission process of manuscripts to scientific and medical journals * Ability to mentor and train others * Superior computer skills, including high-level word processing and graphic presentations * Experience with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint * Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language * Ability to maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations Your Responsibilities: * Oversee document preparation activities * Build and maintain knowledge base to improve the overall content of documents * Write and/or review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and study material * Drive the writing process by conducting or ensuring the following activities have been accomplished: * Identify report contributors and their responsibilities * Develop and maintain timelines * Ensure that all possible report activities are completed prior to deadlines * Review primary statistical output and participate in review of results * Lead discussions on report finalization * Ensure Quality Control review of all final documents * Work effectively with others as a team Methodist Health System Dallas TX
