Title: Medical Writer
We are healthcare connectors. We communicate to healthcare providers about the value of life-changing therapies. In turn, we inform and impact patient treatment decisions, helping patients live longer, fuller lives. We do this through the development and delivery of data-driven, multichannel marketing (MCM) campaigns. This helps our clients connect with healthcare professionals. And it helps healthcare professionals connect with their patients.
BioPharm is looking for a qualified individual to fill the in-house position of Medical Writer. The candidate should have excellent writing and presentation skills, be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate a command of various therapeutic areas. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that medical communication materials are developed with a high level of quality regarding content, organization, clarity, accuracy, format, style, and consistency.
Not a Remote Position. This is a full-time on-site role, based in New Hope, PA.
Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:
Quickly learn and become proficient with the BioPharm process for developing content
Understand medical-marketing strategies and content objectives for assigned accounts
Develop content that meets the stated objectives of the project, is within job specifications as defined by team/client, follows technical specifications, and is scientifically and medically accurate
Determine adequacy of references provided for projects and secure additional references or information as necessary
Accurately cite from references and appropriately underscore (or highlight) these references for medical/regulatory review
Address and incorporate edits requested by clients and KOL, as well as internal reviewers
Consistently deliver high-quality materials on time and on budget, working closely with cross-functional teams
Continually communicate project status to internal stakeholders through various formal and informal mechanisms
Attend kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings
Incorporate client changes and work with the team to address medical-legal review feedback
Qualifications and Experience:
Strong medical writing skills (including appropriate annotations) for development of manuscripts in prose and power point slides with graphics
2+ years of experience as a medical communications medical writer
Solid understanding of bio-pharmaceutical industry including familiarity with the promotional review process
Ability to quickly learn new medical/marketing subject matter and correctly interpret medical data
Bachelor's degree is mandatory. Advanced degree is a plus
High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy with medical content, including referencing
Successful track-record of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent oral communication skills with clients, KOLs, and BioPharm team members, as well as strong listening and analytical skills
Strong skills in time management, prioritizing, organizing, researching, and problem solving, with attention to detail and ability to adhere to deadlines
Proficiency with standard software: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; Adobe Acrobat
