Under general supervision, performs all necessary requirements for segregating, packaging, and labeling of medical waste. Must ensure all medical waste meets all pre-transport requirements prior to shipment off site.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT
Considerable lifting, moving of heavy boxes, walking and standing. Part of day spent doing paperwork.
Position requires ability to constantly lift light objects more than 20 lbs., perform simple motor and gross body coordination skills; walk stand and sit for prolonged periods; see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises. Position requires ability to frequently concentrate on moderate detail with interruption and attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to specific ideas, generally one at a time, and remember tasks given for full shift.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Handles medical waste throughout all areas of the hospital. Employee may frequently be exposed to blood, body tissues or fluids; hazardous waste materials; fluctuations in temperature; seasonal conditions in outside weather.
FT- 40 hours per week every other weekend and holiday
