Medical language specialist is who transcribes dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals in order to document patient care. Medical language specialist accurately interprets and transcribes dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner to meet production standards and in accordance with established policies and procedures as measured in management reports. Medical language specialist diligently demonstrates understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications and laboratory values. Medical language specialist adheres to English term usage to correctly document medical records. Medical language specialist requests assistance to interpret dictation that is unclear or inconsistent, and/or makes use of professional materials in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate for the Medical language specialist position must have excellent listening skills, and oral and written communication skills required.
