Shift: 1st | 7:00am-3:30am

Weekends: Yes, every other and as needed

Medical Technologist | MLT Job Summary:

Provides testing on patient samples, providing physicians with quality results using a variety of clinical laboratory equipment. Has total understanding of patient safety and laboratory techniques necessary to guarantee complete patient safety and anonymity.

Medical Technologist | MLT Essential Responsibilities:

• Maintains and operates Clinical Lab equipment according to manufacturer and laboratory policy. Interprets results and provides appropriate feedback when results are abnormal or per special request.

• Accurately identifies patient samples and accessions them into Laboratory Information System using correct account numbers and test alpha codes.

• Uses and disposes of hazardous and bio hazardous materials as stated in laboratory policies and State and Federal Guidelines.

• Runs controls and understands the importance of controls to verify the quality of testing before releasing results.

• Provides phlebotomy services to patients during shift as needed.

Medical Technologist | MLT Education Qualifications:

• ASCP Medical Technologist | MLT or AMT Medical Technologist Required.

Medical Technologist | MLT Experience Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in a hospital lab preferred.
