Starr Regional Medical Center is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Medical Technologist (MT) for our Laboratory Department. This job is permanent, full-time.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.

• Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Performs quality control testing.

• Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.

• Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.

• Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.

• Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.

• Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.

Minimum EducationBachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology and ASCP certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization ORBS equivalency by passing a certification exam given by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MT(ASCP), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), MT(AMT):□ Preferred, X Required

Required Licenses[Tennessee, United States] Clinical Laboratory Personnel Technologist

MT (ASCP) certification OR equivalent (AMT) OR State of Tennessee Medical Technologist license OR Medical Technologist- General Supervisor:□ Preferred X Required
