I. Major Responsibilities:
Performs routine tests and highly automated testing of patient specimens.
Receives and collects specimens and labels them appropriately.
Performs a variety of routine duties to assist in laboratory processes, such as collecting specimens from patients and performing EKG's.
Performs assigned duties to assist in ensuring, an adequate inventory of supplies for assigned area. Monitors inventory levels and stores equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly manner.
Performs all Quality Control and maintenance procedures to ensure all equipment is adequate for testing of patient samples. Performs troubleshooting on instruments when needed.
Maintains accurate records of tests performed and results, using manual and computer-based systems. Assists in training and competency testing.
Ensures compliance with all laboratory quality and safety policies.

Attends variety of meetings, conferences, seminars as required or directed.
Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.

The ability to use personal computers and standard applications software.
Knowledge of CAP and CLIA Regulatory Standards.
Preferred:
A minimum of 5 year's experience in the Clinical Laboratory.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
