The firm has been providing tax, accounting and planning services to individuals, businesses, governmental and not-for-profit entities for decades and has an excellent reputation. The firm does a fair amount of multi-state work and many clients are in the oil and gas, real estate and ranching industries. There are opportunities for an ambitious, hardworking and entrepreneurial person to excel. One of three partners is retiring in October and the firm would be open to hiring someone who may have an interest in being a partner one day (but that's not a requirement). The firm is virtually paperless and offers clients with an efficient and convenient means of communication and data transfer which is highly sophisticated. The company offers good benefits and pays a $300/month allowance toward a medical premium (on top of the salary). The company also offers vacation and in addition to this, the firm offers additional days off as it is closed from 12/24 – 1/2 every year, and works 36 hour weeks from 5/1 – 12/23. The firm also offers standard holidays, sick time, CPE, and an opportunity to bank overtime hours. (OT hours are usually minimal, however, but could be used for extra personal days or doctor’s appointments, etc.)

Responsibilities

Preparation of tax returns in Creative Solutions UltraTax for businesses (S corps, C corps, Partnerships), individuals and trusts.

Some tax return review

Client service

QuickBooks/financial statement update and review

Preparation of compilation reports

Other special projects, such as assisting partners with tax planning, retirement planning, etc.

Work hours for staff are very fair and promote a work-life balance and a lifestyle of enjoying the outdoors:

May 1 – Dec. 31: 36 hrs/wk

Jan. 1 – Feb. 15: 40 hrs/wk

Feb. 15 – Feb. 28: 45 hrs/wk

Mar. 1 – Apr. 15: 50 -55 hrs/wk

Partners typically work up to 55-60 hrs/wk

Requirements

BS in Accounting

CPA preferred

2 - 7 years’ public accounting tax experience

Some oil & gas tax knowledge is helpful but not required and can be learned

CS UltraTax experience is helpful as is some familiarity with QuickBooks

Someone who is steady, hardworking, entrepreneurial and ambitious

Someone who enjoys the outdoors and the lifestyle of a small town in the mountains

Navigator Recruiting Pagosa Springs CO
