This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Our Medical Technologist will ensure the Laboratory is meeting the highest quality standards. Perform the general technical assignments and testing in the Laboratory Department in accordance with current procedures and quality standards.

Overview of the Role:

  • Demonstrate education and experience commensurate with performance of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing procedures using molecular methods, techniques, and equipment

  • Analyze result data for results reporting per study guidelines

  • Deliver results within the expected time period

  • Perform one or more methods including nucleic acid extraction, quantitative/qualitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), RNA/DNA sequencing

  • Verify and ensure specimen integrity and continuity throughout all testing steps

  • Perform critical quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data

  • Validate test results through correlation with test parameters

  • Complete routine instrument and equipment preventive maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Train newer laboratory technologists in the use of proper techniques and procedures related to good clinical laboratory practice

  • Effectively work independently and as a member of an dynamic, integrated team

  • Be flexible and able to multi-task while working efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment

  • Be experienced with Word and Excel applications

  • Demonstrate proficiency of verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate ongoing skill competency and fulfill annual training/continuing education requirements

You will possess a Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of 2 years experience successfully performing as a Technologist in a molecular biology laboratory. A MB(ASCP), MT(ASCP) certification or eligibility for certification is preferred.

VIEW JOBS 3/23/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-21T00:00 Providence is calling a Medical Technologist - Micro Molecular Lab (0.8 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR. We are seeking a Medical Technologist - Micro Molecular Lab who will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. MT/CLS personnel are capable of performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: * Accurately follow the procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, recording and reporting patient test results. * Conduct established quality control (QC) procedures on analytical equipment, reagents, media and products with appropriate documentation. * Correlate clinical, clerical and technical data. * Review and evaluate test results for accuracy. * Recognize testing problems including unexpected results or abnormal relationships of analytes and alerts senior personnel regarding discrepancy. * Recognize and resolve instrument errors or sample problems; initiating and documenting corrective action. * May be required to perform phlebotomy and processing of specimens in the Small and Rural areas. Required qualifications for this position includes: * Certification (Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist) from a government agency or nationally recognized professional organization (eg.
