SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME; NIGHTS (7 ON/ 7 OFF)
The Medical Technologist is responsible for the efficient, accurate identification and technical analysis of various constituents or organisms present in the human body that may be responsible for and/or related to disease. All technical work of Lab Assistants must be reviewed by a Medical Technologist before reporting.
Medical Technologists utilize computer system to improve test reporting efficiency. Completes test procedures as outlined in procedures/guidelines. Reports patients results after competently performing tests.
Performs standard operating procedure as outlined and any other assigned tasks. Determine specimen acceptability of patient sample. Trains new staff in each area for which competency is maintained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
B.S. Degree and Med Tech Internship.
American Society of Clinical Pathologists, National Certification, MT (ASCP)/ML. Work requires knowledge and skills necessary to perform competently tests that you are responsible to report. Good eyesight, hearing and physically able to sit, stand and walk for long periods.
Manual dexterity and good eye/hand coordination: High level mental acumen at all times; Periodic heavy lifting (40-50 lbs) required reagents and storage boxes. Routine bending, stooping, squatting, and overhead use of arms for retrieving and stocking shelves with reagents/supplies; Must be able to operate the equipment used for the job.
