The RN in the Med/Surgical/Pediatrics Department will be knowledgeable in the care of the following age groups and maintain RN clinical competency in these groups: Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Sr. Adult, and Geriatric. " Competent to care for the general medical/surgical/pediatric patient. " To include, but not limited to: Respiratory Conditions, Congestive Heart Failure, Chest Pain, Cardio Vascular Accident, Diabetes Mellitus, Infectious Disease, General Cancer/Pain, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Laparoscopic Surgery, General Gynecological Surgery, and Pediatric Infections. " Responsible for the compliance of Physician/Provider orders. " Ensure all cares are complete on the patient, such as, but not limited to, Activities of Daily Living. " Ensure that safe discharge plan is complete. " Maintain accurate patient care plan.
