Medical Support Staff - Remote in Boca Raton, FL

Our Medical Support Staff performs various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. They will work directly with psychiatry staff to maintain patient records, triage all calls to our psychiatry department, and record all patient requests for refills and concerns for physician review in our EHR systems. Our Medical Support Staff are also cross-trained to assist the receptionist with other front desk duties such as checking patients in and out, and collecting consent forms and identification.

Compensation:

• The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

General Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate regard for the dignity and respect of all patients

• Demonstrates competency and professional responsibility in the medical assistant role

• Complies with personnel policies

• Maintains confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel, and the public

• Maintains a positive public relations image with peers, patients, and visitors by presenting a positive, helpful attitude

Key Responsibilities:

• Gathers data relevant to the patient's age group and individual needs

• Obtains and records: vital signs, weight, medication profile, allergies, chief complaint, signature/initials where appropriate before appointment with Psychiatrist

• Maintains and organizes medication samples

• Triage all calls to our psychiatry department. Recording in our EHR systems all patient requests for refills and concerns for physician review

• Receives and documents telephone messages and records all requests in the EHR system for Physician follow-up

• Utilizes photocopy and facsimile machine

• Confirms appointment schedule and follow up on missed appointments

• Maintains a neat, clean, and functional workstation

• Prescription prior authorizations

Requirements:

• High School Diploma

• Three years of medical office experience is preferred

• EMR experience

• Typing, filing accurately

• Must possess basic computer skills

• Communication skills (written & verbal)
