GENERAL SUMMARY The Medical Staff Services Systems Specialist reports to the Adm. Director of Medical Staff Services. The primary job function is to serve as the system administrator for the Medical Staff Services EHR system. Provides day-to-day operations and maintenance, maximizes computer system capabilities by studying technical applications, and makes recommendations for optimal system functionality. Performs other duties as assigned. Places software into production by loading software into computer; entering necessary commands. Places hardware into production by establishing connections; entering necessary commands. Maximizes use of hardware and software by training users; interpreting instructions; answering questions. Maintains system capability by testing computer components. Maintains historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions. Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Educates Physicians, NP#s, PA#s, Management Team, clinical staff and colleagues on policies and procedures pertaining to the electronic health systems. Collaborates with Physician Leaders, Executive and Management teams enhance use of current electronic health record systems. Provides coverage by phone with remote computer access minimum of 1:3 evenings and weekends.
