This position provides support to the physicians in the PM&R Department. Responsible for the appropriate management of a high volume of phone calls and faxes. Must obtain all insurance verifications/authorizations of benefits for procedures and enters all data into the system prior to all patient appointments. In addition, prepares medical records for patients and authorized individuals. Schedules patients, manages physician(s) dailyschedules, handles physician(s) and office correspondence. Good verbal and written communication skills, sound organization abilities. Good computer skills and EMR experience preferred. Performs other duties as assigned.
Current experience in a high volume medical office setting is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Secretarial or medical office certificate preferred
Knowledge and practice of proper business office and telephone decorum at all times.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent interaction with other staff members a must.
Knowledge and use of online as well as telephone insurance referral/verification and authorization processing.
Collection experience is helpful.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
