Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ability to perform basic word processing procedures. Ability to prepare reports and follow-up with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of basic record keeping and filing systems. Demonstrates skill at written and oral communications including taking minutes at meetings and relating to physicians and allied health professionals regarding their applications for initial privileges, reappointments and/or temporary privileges. Possess organization and communication skills.

Maintains emotional stability and calm disposition, and has ability to relate positively with all levels of professionals. Has ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions. Possesses willingness to improve.

Loyal, reliable, tactful, honest and discreet maintaining confidentiality at all times. Exhibits professional appearance. Must be able to carry out specific assignments to successful conclusion. Has ability to problem solve and make decisions

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Secretarial training

2.Supervisory, management experience desired

3.Typing 50 wpm, medical terminology, and shorthand/speedwriting preferred. Office equipment used: Binding machine, heavy duty stapler/regular stapler, calculator, hole puncher, dictator/transcriber, photocopier, electric typewriter, telephone, fax machine, word processing equipment.

4.Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1.Minimum of three years experience in confidential/executive secretarial position and/or three years experience in a hospital Medical Staff Office secretarial position.
