Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of administrative tasks to support colleagues and management pertaining to the credentialing processes of physicians and other licensed health care professionals of Care New England Health System (CNE).

Responsibilities:

  • Sends, receives, and reviews initial applications and reappointment applications, and requests missing information.

  • Tracks license and certification expirations to confirm renewals.

  • Performs online primary source verifications, as directed.

  • Updates the database in accordance with standardized workflows and data entry rules.

  • Prepares verification letters, as directed.

  • Performs administrative functions such as ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, preparing Medical Staff communications, attending staff meetings.

  • Applies knowledge, expertise, sound judgment and consults with team members as necessary to resolve questions or concerns.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two years office or administrative experience, preferably in the healthcare or medical field.

  • Must be self-motivated, learn quickly, possess good organizational skills and able to multi-task.

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively and collaboratively with staff, physicians, and other clinicians in a courteous manner.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and comfortable working with database software.

  • Must be able to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
