If you work in an office where everything runs smoothly. Where meetings are scheduled efficiently. Where staff are kept up-to-speed. Where people are greeted pleasantly. Then you are walking into an office with a top-notch assistant. Our Medical Staff Office needs just such a person.

Do you pride yourself on your organizational skills? Are you a strong communicator? Can you see things that need to be done and then take care of them? We need someone with your skills.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Assemble and distribute meeting agendas and supporting documents; take meeting minutes and transcribe notes, follow through on details, secure required signatures, and maintain minutes in the office.

  • File documents in accordance with established filing systems in a timely manner.

  • Follow-up with details of scheduled events and keep appropriate personnel apprised of status and progress of such events.

  • Make arrangements and schedule meetings on behalf of medical staff; send notices, agendas.

  • Prepare check requisitions, purchase orders, food service requests, supply requests, subscriptions; obtain authorized signatures and forward to proper designations, as required.

  • Provide reports to internal customers from the medical staff database.

  • Respond to outside requests for verifications of Medical Staff status.

  • Work closely with medical staff and coordinate signatures Ensure files are up to date according to bylaws and CMS guidelines File documents in a timely manner.

  • Coordinates the credentialing process for medical/allied health students rotation privileges, as required.

  • Maintain database of physicians and allied health professionals Ensure forms and policies are maintained Assembles and distributes meeting agendas and supporting documents; takes meeting minutes and transcribes notes, follows through on details, secures required signatures, and maintains minutes in the office.

  • Follow directions as communicated in a variety of ways.

  • Learn quickly and through multiple channels.

  • Reading comprehension.

  • Time management.

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Typing skills of 45 WPM.

It requires the assistance of a person who can follow the directions of a doctor or RN while also making the patient feel comfortable. The ability to give the same level of attention and detail to each and every patient. It's a bit of a juggling act but if you think you have the skills then we need to talk. Do you pride yourself on your empathy with patients? Are you a whiz at getting a patient ready for an exam or test? Do you value working in a faith-filled environment? Are you good at accurately recording patient stats and handling test results? If you said yes, you're just what we need in a Medical Assistant. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Monday thru Friday hours vary between 8am-7pm and one Saturday a month, 8am-12pm * Provide direct patient care, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation. * Provide customer service to internal and external customers via phone, electronic, and in person. * May perform patient registration duties. * Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills. * Enter patient information into an electronic medical records system and use systems to produce and conduct referrals, prior authorizations, medication research, and other related duties. WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED * Prior Medical Assisting experience preferred. * Maintain composure even in very difficult situations. * Knowledge of hematology/blood collection technology, techniques, and procedures. * Customer service skills. * Knowledge of terminology used in diagnosis and classification of illnesses, injuries, and disabilities. * Follow directions as communicated in a variety of ways. * Show sincere interest in others and their concerns. * Understanding of patient handling techniques. * Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, generic and trade names, and ICD coding. * Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties. * Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
