Selects transducer and makes equipment adjustments according to the nature of test, depth of field, and other test specifications.
Enters test data and patient information into the computer to become part of the test record. Moves transducer by hand over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor the quality of the ultrasound image produced. Records diagnostic data electronically.
Produces a permanent record of test results. Checks equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper operation. RDMS (abdomen, OB-GYN, or RVT) registered sonographer required ARRT - registered and Montana Radiologic Technologist license preferred but not required.
