About Our Career Opportunity
Fountain City Family Physicians,a division of Summit Medical Group, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced
Medical Scribe. A Licensed Practical Nurse/Certified Medical Assistant is preferred but not required. This is a full time position working M-R, 8am-5pm.
(List does not include all duties assigned)
Enters orders into electronic medical record according to provider direction.
Transcribes records for physicians and /or physician extenders in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.
Checks documents for errors including quantities, dates, format, spelling, punctuation and grammar. Makes necessary corrections without changing the text meaning.
Maintains a workable knowledge of relevant software programs.
Maintains current knowledge of medical terminology and use of equipment.
Returns or distributes dictated information within the requested deadlines, and by the requested methods /formats.
Handles other front office sorting functions as needed.
Performs duties in a professional manner while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative demeanor with patients, co-workers, management and the public. Attends meetings as required.
Adheres to all appropriate aspects of the corporate compliance plan
Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care providedto patients.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, additional vocational or college credits.
Certification/License: Active state LPN license or current Medical Assistant Certificationpreferred.
Experience: At least six months experience in similar clinical setting is preferred.
